How We Rated the Baccarat Casinos
Now you can learn how we determined the top three casinos for playing online Baccarat:
Low Commissions
The most important aspect of a good Baccarat casino is that it charges a low commission. Each Internet casino above charges only 5% for Baccarat wagers, which is exactly what you would find at a live casino in Las Vegas. This keeps the house edge low, and makes Baccarat very close to an even money game.
Big Betting Limits
Baccarat is traditionally a game for high rollers, so it was important to us that each online casino offered Baccarat games for high stakes. Every casino on the list accepts wagers up to $250 per hand, and the best part is if you are a loyal player they can raise those stakes to $1,000 per hand, $5,000 per hand, or even more.
Nothing is more boring than being forced to place overly small Baccarat wagers, and the casinos above make sure to alleviate that problem.
Smooth Game Play
Our next step was to make sure that the Baccarat tables at each online casino offered a smooth and visually pleasing experience. All of the Baccarat games at the casinos above ran smooth and had no glitches or hang ups whatsoever. Also, there was no delay in between hands, which is an annoying little habit that some other online casinos have.
More Baccarat Info
Baccarat is a simple game, but it may seem a little confusing at first glance. To play Baccarat, all you have to do is bet on the Banker, the Player, or a Tie. The Banker and Player are two separate hands that are dealt on the table. Each hand receives two cards, and based on those two cards, each hand may receive more cards or may stand pat.
Each card is worth face value, except tens and faces are worth zero, and Aces are worth one. Also, if your hand has a value of ten or more, you subtract ten to get the final score.
For example, if the Player had a four and a five they would have a total of nine. If the Banker had an eight and a nine, they would have seven. You would add the two cards together to get seventeen, then drop the ten to get back to single digits.
Inside Baccarat Tip - The Banker bet is the smartest bet in the game, as it only has a house edge of 1.06%. The Player bet has a house edge of 1.24%, while the Tie bet has a whopping house edge of over 14%! Ouch!
Whichever hand ends up closest to nine is the winner, or if the hands have equal value, the Tie bet wins. To learn more about Baccarat, read the full rules of Baccarat. You may also be interested in learning some basic Baccarat strategy.
